Content Pages

by Yabsta 31st January 2018

The majority of Yabsta content (Articles, POIsListings and more) are built to allow users to easily add site content with minimal coding experience. Content pages, however, are an advanced feature requiring a skilled administrator with general web design and building experience, that allow for the customization of Yabsta pages. A number of content pages come pre-configured and use a mix of templates, widget blocks and HTML coding to create and edit the layout and design of these pages. These pre-configured pages can be edited to suit your needs, or new pages can be created.

  1. Within Yabsta, click your profile tab at the top right and select Admin Panel. In the top navigation, click Content Management. In the left navigation, click Yabsta Content and select List Content Pages from the dropdown menu.

  2. Search for the page you would like to edit by title, URL or section and click on the pencil icon to edit. To create a new content page, click Add Content Page from the left navigation.

  3. Add or edit the URL and Title of the page. Select Enabled to allow the page to appear live on the site.

  4. SEO Settings are critical to the creation of any HTML page. This content gets added to the Header of your HTML files and is what search engines use to index your page. Here, enter your keywords and description, and control how search engines index and follow links throughout your page.

  5. The Content box allows you to add custom HTML to your page, please see Step 10.

  6. Select the section of Yabsta you would like your content page to appear in. This controls the primary colour and other design elements through which Yabsta signifies section content.

  7. Select your Template to control how the main layout and design of your content page. This affects the header, including main navigation, and footer of the page. The majority of Yabsta content uses the landing pages template.

  8. Add Widget Blocks to your content page by clicking on Widget Blocks and draggin it down to the table below. Select a Widget Block type from within the modal window. There are a number of Widget Blocks pre-configured for specific content pages and sections of Yabsta that can also be used for any page.

  9. Enable/disable Widget Blocks by clicking on the corresponding radio button or change their order by clicking and dragging on the positions in the table. The Cache lifetime number should only be adjusted for advanced web development purposes.

  10. Click Edit to customize Widget Block content.

  11. Similar to Widget Blocks, add Content Placeholders to your content page by clicking and dragging items down to the table. If desired, use this to add custom HTML layout and design to your page. Use the Content box as referenced in step 4 to add your custom HTML code via the TinyMCE.

  12. Click Save to send your content page  to moderation. Following approval, you will receive confirmation in your Yabsta Messages.
