Content Categories

Categories are added to organise the content within each Yabsta content type. These categories are edited within the Content Management section of Yabsta’s admin panel. Editing the Content Categories controls how the content displays and functions within Yabsta.

 

Article, Event, Video, Bizcast, Collection

 

  1. Within Yabsta, click your profile tab at the top right and select Admin Panel. In the top navigation, click Content Management. In the left navigation, click Content Categories.

  2. To create a new category, click Add Category from the dropdown menu.

  3. Select a content type, which is the section of Yabsta where the content will appear.

  4. To add a subcategory to an existing category, select a parent category.

  5. To prevent a content type from showing in Yabsta’s front end, select the Disabled box.

  6. Name your category select an appropriate icon.

  7. Click Save to turn the category on.

  8. You are now ready to add articles, events, videos, bizcasts and collections.

 

 

Point of Interest (POI)

 

  1. Within Yabsta, click your profile tab at the top right and select Admin Panel. In the top navigation, click Content Management. In the left navigation, click Content Categories.

  2. To create a new category, click Add Category from the dropdown menu.

  3. Select Point of Interest as your Content Type, which is the section of Yabsta where the content will appear.

  4. To add a subcategory to an existing category, select a parent category.

  5. To prevent a content type from showing in Yabsta’s front end, select the Disabled box.

  6. Name your category select an appropriate icon.

  7. Select the Enabled by default on POI Map box. This allows your POI categories to show up on the Yabsta Map. When visiting the Yabsta Map, POI items by default are set to be hidden, rather than automatically showing on the map. This is to minimize the amount of loading the map needs to do (which defaults to giving preference to showing Business Listings / restaurants). An Admin user can set specific categories to automatically show, if desired. At any time, the user can hide/show any map category by using the legend located on the left of the page.

  8. Click Save to turn the category on.

  9. You are now ready to add Points of Interest.

 

 

News

 

  1. Within Yabsta, click your profile tab at the top right and select Admin Panel. In the top navigation, click Content Management. In the left navigation, click Content Categories.

  2. To create a new category, click Add Category from the dropdown menu.

  3. Select News as your content type, which is the section of Yabsta where the content will appear.

  4. To add a subcategory to an existing category, select a parent category.

  5. To prevent a content type from showing in Yabsta’s front end, select the Disabled box.

  6. Name your category select an appropriate icon

  7. Select a category type. Choose RSS if you are adding a RSS feed. If you are not adding a RSS feed, select Local.

  8. Add a RSS URL, if desired. This links your Yabsta site to another site’s newsfeed. The latest news from the RSS URL will then automatically feed in and display on your site.

  9. Upload a logo. The required size in pixels is ...size?

  10. Click Save to turn the category on.

  11. You are now ready to add news items.

 

 

Classified

 

  1. Within Yabsta, click your profile tab at the top right and select Admin Panel. In the top navigation, click Content Management. In the left navigation, click Content Categories.

  2. To create a new category, click Add Category from the dropdown menu.

  3. Select Classified as your content type, which is the section of Yabsta where the content will appear.

  4. To add a subcategory to an existing category, select a parent category.

  5. To prevent a content type from showing in Yabsta’s front end, select the Disabled box.

  6. Name your category select an appropriate icon.

  7. Select a classified type. This allows for unique options like selecting whether a vehicle being sold has automatic or manual gears.

  8. If you are using Oodle to import classifieds, make sure to enter the equivalent category name here based on Oodles naming conventions

  9. Click Save to turn the category on.

  10. You are now ready to add Classifieds.

Edit a Category

 

  1. Within Yabsta, click your profile tab at the top right and select Admin Panel. In the top navigation, click Content Management. In the left navigation, click Content Categories.

  2. Click List Categories from the dropdown menu to access the list of content types. Click the pencil icon next to each content type to access and edit the current categories list.

  3. Click the pencil icon next to the category you would like to edit. Add and/or change the current information and/or icon.

  4. Click Save.
